Somma

Somma

Impact

Somma products are produced using recycled, organic and regenerative raw materials.
The pieces are made with organic cotton, which uses less water in cultivation; with biodegradable polyamide, which generates less waste on Earth and pollutes the soil less; and with Econyl, regenerated nylon made from waste found at sea such as fishing nets and plastic, which receive an appropriate destination and new purpose when transformed into clothing.
Somma believes that sport and movement with the body can be a spiritual practice of healing and internal transformation when performed deeply and in contact with nature. Thus, a deeper awareness of who we are and our important role as a human being on the Planet is cultivated.
By choosing the brand's products, consumers are making a positive impact, letting nature breathe and self-regenerate, bringing more life, health and well-being to ourselves and the planet.
Somma believes that we are all interconnected.

History

Somma was born out of a personal desire and a global need: to wear interesting clothes, with functionality and durability, that promote connection and individual and collective transformation.

The founder of Somma is Aline Fernandes, born in southern Brazil, who at the age of 17 moved to Europe and then to the United States to work as a model. Years later, in search of more depth and connection, Aline embarked on the world of yoga, especially ashtanga yoga. He traveled to India and studied with great masters, such as Sri K. Patthabi Jois, Eddie Stern and Thom Knoles. He also practiced meditation at the David Lynch Foundation.

At the time, Aline could not find clothes for physical activities that had an eye on the impact on the planet and satisfied her as a practitioner and teacher. As time passed and awareness of the negative impact of the textile industry on the environment expanded, she created Somma.

With each piece that consumers purchase from Somma, they help the planet to regenerate, impacting all living beings in a positive way, generating more life and love.

Who does

The pieces are designed by Aline Fernandes and then passed on to model maker and pilot Emiliana. When the pilot pieces are approved, they are sent to Good Sport, a family company in the interior of São Paulo, where the products are manufactured.

Products

Through Somma's products, consumers contribute to more fertile soil, impacting the lives of all living beings and contributing to planet Earth's biodiversity.

The raw materials for the pieces are: organic cotton, which is grown using up to 91% less water than growing non-organic cotton; biodegradable polyamide, which decomposes within three years, providing breathing space and enhancing soil regeneration; and Econyl, a type of regenerated nylon, which contributes to cleaning the oceans, giving purpose and destination to waste such as plastics and fishing nets.
