History

More than a decade ago, Max and Ed embarked on a journey to redefine the superfood landscape. Driven by a personal passion for nutrition, health and biodiversity, Max was already exploring the best superfoods in the world. Unhappy with the prevalence of the same ingredients on the market, the duo turned their attention to the richness of the Amazon rainforest.

The central question was clear: which Amazonian ingredients could lead the global food revolution? This essential question triggered a process of in-depth research and fascinating discoveries about the biodiversity of the Amazon. With a shared vision and determination to make a positive impact, Max and Ed conceived of the “Forest Regenerative System” (SRF) as an answer to three crucial questions.

First, they identified the Amazonian ingredients that should be protagonists in this food revolution. They then sought the fairest, most effective and direct way for consumers to connect with the communities that produce these ingredients. Finally, they explored how the forest bioeconomy could generate a positive environmental impact.

These reflections and concerns culminated in the creation of Mahta. Max and Ed established a new, pioneering, provocative and change-accelerating path, believing that business can be regenerative. Mahta is the concrete expression of this commitment, the first product from a company that seeks not only to offer exceptional superfoods, but also to promote positive transformation, aligned with the vitality of the forest and the prosperity of traditional communities.

Producers

Mahta co-created the Forest Regenerative System (SRF) in collaboration with renowned experts in sustainable business, nutrition, health, climate change, biodiversity and environmental regeneration. This systemic method aims to integrate different areas of expertise to promote sustainability and regeneration in the Amazon.

By aiming to improve the living conditions of traditional communities, Mahta is committed to regenerating the lives of communities that protect the Forest. To this end, it establishes direct and fair remuneration practices for extractivists and agroforestry producers, which include:

Strengthen extractive and agroforestry production in traditional indigenous, quilombola and riverside communities, among others.
Encourage fair trade, eliminating intermediaries and sharing maximum value, while guaranteeing a premium price for producers.

Offer technical support to add value to the production of raw materials, incorporating modern practices into ancestral traditions.

Products

The products are made from the ingredients: Açaí, Bacaba, Bacuri, Wild Cocoa, Brazil Nut, Coconut Milk, Cumaru, Cupuaçu, Stevia dos Andes, Gum Acacia, Soursop, Murici, Pimenta Assissi, Taperebá.

The products are low-carb, protein, lactose-free, gluten-free, plant-based, rich in prebiotic, antioxidant and regenerative fibers.

In addition to regenerating the human microbiome, they contribute to the regeneration of the Forest's macrobiome, establishing a continuous cycle of health, abundance, prosperity and life.
