Poetry takes André Gravatá to various corners of this country to talk to people and hold workshops, speeches and various meetings. He finds joy in seeing how much sense the relationship between life and poetry makes for people in such different places. He believes that, with poetry, what is at stake is getting closer to that mighty river that is life, which flows through us. What is at stake is recognizing that everything is alive and that words have strength and touch people. Poetry is an arc that launches us directly into the heart of the present.

History

André Gravatá's history with poetry has existed since he was a child, when he wrote letters to unknown people and discovered the power of words. André is the son of migrants from Bahia and also a son from the outskirts of São Paulo - all these roots were fundamental for him to realize that poetry goes far beyond the written poem, as poetry is also a chance to root ourselves in ourselves and in the world.
His first book of poetry, written several years ago, was quite artisanal, created in partnership with the artist Serena Labate and several other beloved artists. André has been delving into poetry in its various dimensions: whether through the creation of poems, experiments with the visuality of words, artisanal and independent creations.

The book O Aniversário da Terra was written by him, with cover art and interior pages that were also his creations. It was published by 7Letras, a publisher in Rio de Janeiro.
